How do I watch a digital screening?

New this year: Digital screenings have a scheduled start date and time. Ticket holders will have a four-hour window to start and complete each film.

If you redeemed a digital ticket package or purchased tickets prior to September 8, your films can be found by signing in to digital TIFF Bell Lightbox and selecting “My Library.”

To purchase tickets to a digital screening during the Festival, hover over the thumbnail and click “Rent.” Enter your credit card number in the pop-up window. If you have a promo code, it can be entered in this window. You will be emailed a link to watch your rental, and it will also appear in your Library shortly.

Do I have to watch the films at a specific time?

New this year: Digital screenings have a scheduled start date and time. Ticket holders will have a four-hour window to start and complete each film.

Each screening begins at a scheduled start time, which you can review in the Official Film Schedule beginning August 24. There will be a Digital Premiere Screening and a Digital Second Screening of each film.

How long do I have to watch a film?

Each screening is available for a four-hour window and must be completed within that time frame.

I want to purchase tickets, but it’s “Sold Out.” Why?

Like any Festival screening, digital screenings have a capacity. Festival screenings are exclusive to TIFF audiences and are available before each film’s wide release. Inventory may fluctuate, so we recommend regularly checking tiff.net/available to see if more tickets become available.

How do I watch a screening’s intro?

Introductions are included at the beginning of each film, and play automatically when you begin the screening.

How do I watch a screening’s Q&A or other bonus content?

To watch a film's Q&A, hover over the thumbnail and click “Q&A.” Any additional bonus content can be found on a film's detail page. To watch, click on a title and scroll to “Bonus Content.”

Can I start a film and come back to it later?

Yes. Films can be paused and resumed at any point within your four-hour watch window.

What is your refund and exchange policy?

All sales are final. Digital screenings and events cannot be exchanged. If you redeemed a digital ticket package or purchased tickets prior to September 7, you may transfer your tickets to a friend before September 7 at 5pm. Digital screenings are non-transferable after this deadline.
