When and where can I view the Official Film Schedule?

The Official Film Schedule for TIFF 2024 will be available online at tiff.net/schedule on Tuesday, August 13 at 10am. Printed schedules are no longer available.

What is the best way to purchase tickets?

Purchasing Festival tickets online is the easiest and most efficient way to get tickets to the screenings you want. Visit About TIFF 2024 to review on-sale dates for this year's Festival.

TIFF’s Call Centre will be available for purchasing accessible seats and for technical support with online ticket purchases. Before calling, we encourage you to attempt purchasing your tickets online and referencing our troubleshooting tips on TIFF Helps’ Ticketing page, as you may be subject to long wait-times.

How do I get tickets to the Festival films that I want to see most?

Festival tickets can be extremely limited, especially to red-carpet screenings, World or North American Premieres, and screenings that feature audience Q&As. We do our best to ensure a fair distribution of tickets during the Festival, but we are not able to guarantee access to any specific film.

We recommend that you choose a variety of Festival films that are of interest to you, including the films you want to see most and back-up options for each. Popular films and screenings may be “off-sale” during individual ticket on-sales, and you will also have a limited time to make your selections.

Finally, many Festival films will screen at TIFF Lightbox in the months following the Festival, or following their theatrical release. If your preferred film is “off-sale” for the Festival, you still may be able to see it at TIFF in the future.

What does it mean when a screening is “off-sale?”

When a screening no longer has available tickets, it is referred to as “off-sale.” Inventory may fluctuate, so we recommend regularly checking to see if more tickets have become available.

What are Rush tickets and what are Rush lines for?

If a Festival screening is off-sale, customers without tickets may wait in the Rush line as a last-chance to see the film. Around 15 minutes prior to a screening’s start time, Front of House staff will count the empty seats in the cinema and sell a select amount of Rush tickets to those in the Rush line on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rush tickets are $47 for Premium screenings and $27 for Regular screenings.

We recommend arriving for a Rush line no earlier than 60 minutes prior to your screening. Please note that being in a Rush line does not guarantee a ticket to the screening.

I got my TIFF ticket! What should I do to prepare for my screening?

Here are some tips to ensure you are prepared for your screening:

  1. Double check your screening date, time and venue. Our Festival schedule can change, so ensure you have accurate information by checking tiff.net. You can also see a full list of schedule changes at tiff.net/changes.
  2. Download a digital ticket to your mobile phone. You will need your tickets to get into the screening, and it is easier to download them at home before you arrive. Follow the steps in this TIFF Helps section to access your tickets and download them to your mobile wallet.
  3. Show up early. 30 minutes early is on time. 15 minutes early is late.
  4. Have fun! You’re at a film festival. Our staff and volunteers are here to ensure the best possible Festival experience for all audience members.

How can I find out about any changes to my screening?

All screening changes (including date, time, and location) are noted on tiff.net/changes after our schedule goes live on August 13 at 10am. If you have purchased tickets to a screening that has been changed or cancelled, you will receive a notification email from our Customer Relations team.

For the Festival, you may visit TIFF Festival Account Manager to purchase tickets or check tiff.net/available for a list of films with remaining tickets.

Can children and/or youth attend the Festival?

Yes. Children aged two and older require a Festival ticket to attend a screening. Tickets are subject to regular Festival pricing. Children under two years of age do not require a ticket if they are sharing a seat with an adult. Content advisories may be available for select films.

What is Festival Street and where is it located?

Festival Street is a free, family-friendly street festival that celebrates all things film, including live performances, partner activations, and outdoor screenings. It is located on King Street, between Peter Street and University Avenue, from September 5–8 between 10am–10pm.

How can I watch the red carpet appearances?

TIFF has dedicated Fan Zones that allow the public to watch red carpet appearances. More information will be shared about accessing Fan Zones in August.

Please note that Fan Zones have a limited fan capacity and lining up does not guarantee access to the Fan Zone. Additionally, TIFF cannot guarantee that any specific individual will appear on the red carpet.
