Portrait of Christa Dickenson

A tri-sector leader with three decades of experience spanning broadcast television, news, technology, telecommunications, interactive digital media, and film financing, Christa spent her formative years at CTV News, CPAC and Rogers.

As CEO of three organizations in succession over the past decade, Christa has led successful organizational transformations. The first was at the helm of provincial digital media trade association Interactive Ontario, followed by her appointment to modernize the federal Crown agency Telefilm Canada. Today, Christa is leading the not-for-profit broadcaster CPAC through a time of broadcast landscape reform.

Reputed as an unparalleled talent for change management and motivating stakeholders, she mentors young executives through her broad business acumen, board governance, and government relations skills, along with her brand and advocacy expertise.

An inclusive leader, Christa values all voices. Her belief is there are playing fields that still need to be levelled. Working toward this, she aims for transparency and emphasizes equity versus equality.

Christa is a highly effective advocate and bilingual spokesperson for screen-based industries. She is the former Chair of the Board of Directors of CIAIC (Canadian Interactive Alliance Interactive Canadienne), and Board member of the National Film Board of Canada. Currently, Christa sits on the Board of Directors of Livres Canada Books and the Toronto International Film Festival.

Christa was awarded the Special Jury Award of Distinction by WIFT (Women in Film and Television) in 2022. She was recognized as one of the 20 Most Powerful Women in Global Entertainment by The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, having propelled Telefilm Canada — a 50-year-old corporation — into an era of modernization while acknowledging and breaking down barriers to access.
