The TIFF Tribute Awards presented by Bulgari honour the film industry’s outstanding contributors and their achievements, recognizing leading industry members, acting talent, directorial expertise, new talent, and below-the-line artists and creators. The Tribute Awards also serve as TIFF’s largest annual fundraiser to support our year-round programmes and core mission to transform the way people see the world through film.
The 2023 TIFF Tribute Awards took place on Sunday, September 10 at the historic Fairmont Royal York Hotel. New this year, the TIFF Rising Stars Tribute After Party presented by L’Oréal Paris followed the awards ceremony and dinner to celebrate emerging talent on the cusp of success.
Net proceeds from the 2023 event went towards TIFF’s Viola Desmond Cinema campaign, which was launched through the Every Story Fund in 2022. In commemoration of the groundbreaking human rights and social justice legacy made by Viola Desmond and her sister Wanda Robson, TIFF has named our largest cinema the Viola Desmond Cinema, emphasizing that communion in a movie theatre belongs to everyone.
