TIFF Transforms: Access for All

Reaching new film lovers:
A partnership with the Toronto Public Library

In an effort to open TIFF’s doors wider and welcome new film lovers, we have partnered with the Toronto Public Library (TPL) through their Museum and Arts (MAP) Performing Arts program. Because of the generous support of thousands of film lovers, we are able to connect TIFF to new neighbourhoods.

The MAP Performing Arts Pass is currently available at 10 branches of the TPL, and can be redeemed for tickets at arts organizations across Toronto. At TIFF Bell Lightbox, pass holders can redeem their pass for a three-month TIFF Membership and two film vouchers to a year-round screening.

Through partnering with the Toronto Public Library and by providing access to MAP Performing Arts Passes at library branches beyond the downtown core, we have been able to connect more broadly to Toronto residents.

We are so happy with how successful this partnership has been in the first few months, and the Toronto Public Library agrees:

“We are thrilled that our community partner TIFF Bell Lightbox is extending this offer to TPL customers and enhancing the MAP program by increasing access to arts and culture in Toronto.”
—Vickery Bowles, City Librarian, Toronto Public Library

We hope to be able to expand our partnership with the Toronto Public Library this fall, to continue to give new film lovers access to transformative filmgoing experiences. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on this exciting partnership!
