Sonja Baksa is the International Programmer for Short Cuts. She has been with the TIFF Short Cuts team since 2019, and previously curated the short film selection at the South Western International Film Festival. She also works as a feature film programmer at the Vancouver International Film Festival, where she leads the curation of the competitive Vanguard section. Baksa holds an MSc in Film, Exhibition and Curation from the University of Edinburgh; and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Zagreb. Her niche interests in art, space, and the occult in cinema have extended into academic research, curatorial projects, and written pieces for various publications.
