Fan Zone Locations
We have provided multiple dedicated areas for the ultimate fan experience during the Festival.

King Street Fan Zones
Located in front of the Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre and the Royal Alexandra Theatre.

David Pecaut Square Fan Zones
There are a total of five zones on David Pecaut Square:

  • RBC Red Carpet Gallery - David Pecaut Square
  • Rogers Fan Zone - David Pecaut Square
  • SHINGRIX Fan Zone - David Pecaut Square
  • David Pecaut Square South Fan Zone - David Pecaut Square
  • King Street Fan Zone - Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre
  • King Street Fan Zone - Royal Alexandra Theatre

Please note: On David Pecaut square, only the TIFF South Fan Zone and the SHINGRIX Fan Zone will use the Fan Zone Entry Process as listed below. Rogers, RBC and Peroni Fan Zones may operate differently and entry may be limited. Please visit them for more information.

Fan Zone Entry Process
Here are the steps to secure a spot in the Fan Zones.

Instructions:

  • Fans can collect one wristband for each red carpet they want to watch that day between 9am - 10:30am daily (except September 5th, which is 2:30pm-4pm) from the wristband pickup tables at the north end of David Pecaut Square. There will be signage indicating the pickup location.
Please note: there is a limit of one wristband per red carpet per person.
  • Once wristbands have been collected, keep them safe (lost wristbands will not be reissued) and line up at the relevant Fan Zone at the allotted time.
  • Fan zones open two hours prior to screening start time. At this point, fans who have already collected wristbands earlier in the day can enter. Those who have not yet got a wristband can join the Fan Zone rush line.
  • One hour before screening start time, Fan Zones will start allowing those in the rush line to enter. Wristbands will be distributed at the entrance. Depending on the quantity of wristbands given out in the morning, those in the rush line may be allowed entry earlier than one hour.
  • Approximately 20 minutes before a screening starts, Fan Zone access will close for that particular red carpet.

How can I watch the red carpet appearances?

TIFF has dedicated Fan Zones along King Street and on David Pecaut Square that allow members of the public to watch red carpet appearances at the Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre, Royal Alexandra Theatre and Roy Thomson Hall.

What do I need to enter a Fan Zone?

Fan Zone access is controlled by way of a Fan Zone wristband. These can be collected in advance at the wristband pickup table from 9am - 10.30am daily at the north end of David Pecaut Square. Fans who do not have not collected a wristband in advance can join the rush line at that specific Fan Zone.

How many wristbands can I collect?

Fans can collect one wristband per red carpet taking place that day.

What time do Fan Zones open?

Fan Zones open two hours before the start time of a screening. Fans who have collected a wristband in advance will be granted access at that time. One hour before the screening starts, those in the rush line will be allowed in on a first-come, first-served basis (subject to capacity).

What if I have collected a wristband in advance but I am late?

If you have picked up a wristband in advance but arrive late (after the Fan Zone rush line is granted entry one hour before the start of a screening), you will need to join the back of the rush line.

Can I bring in a backpack or bag?

Backpacks are not allowed in Fan Zones. smaller items like purses, tote bags and fanny packs are permitted. Please check the list of allowed and prohibited items for more details.

Am I guaranteed a spot in the Fan Zone?

Fan Zones have limited capacity and specific timings for when fans can enter. Access is not guaranteed. Additionally, TIFF cannot guarantee that any specific individual will appear on the Red Carpet.
