General Information

Enjoy TIFF screenings outside this year at a drive-in or open-air cinema. Both drive-in and open-air screenings will continue rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather, such as lightning or high winds, the screening will be cancelled and all ticket holders will be given access to the film on digital TIFF Bell Lightbox at a later date.

You must attend drive-ins in a motor vehicle designed to be closed to the elements — but feel free to open your windows or put your roof down during the screening.

Upon arrival, you will be directed to the parking spot that was selected at purchase, as indicated on your ticket. You will not be permitted to move to a different spot. If you need to leave the venue during the show, please notify a parking attendant and someone will escort your vehicle out. Once your vehicle is parked, please keep your headlights turned off.

After the show, please do not exit on your own. Parking attendants will usher all vehicles out in order of row and space number to ensure that everyone can exit quickly and safely. Please remember to drive within lanes and do not cut across parking spots.

If you have an emergency or require assistance, simply flash your headlights and honk your horn, and an attendant will come to your vehicle right away. If your car battery dies, please also notify a parking attendant and they will be able to provide you with onsite assistance.

We are happy to assist you should you have any car trouble. Simply stay in your car after the show and someone will be right over.

Visa Skyline Drive-In

The drive-in is located at Ontario Place Lot 2, to the east of Budweiser Stage and south of Hotel X. The entrance can be found off of Lakeshore Boulevard at Remembrance Drive.

Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by staff who will scan your ticket and direct you to your reserved parking spot. Doors will open two hours prior to your screening. All vehicles must be in their assigned parking spot 15 minutes prior to the screening start time.

Sound will be transmitted through your car radio. Please tune your radio to 95.5 FM.

Concessions will be available to purchase on-site. TIFF prefers Visa. This year’s offerings include food from some of Toronto’s most popular food trucks, including popcorn, sweet treats like churros and cheesecake on a stick, Egyptian street food, authentic Venezuelan snacks, and much more. Washrooms are available along the south-side perimeter.

Masks must be worn when not in your vehicle, and we encourage you to maintain a safe physical distance of at least six feet from others.

RBC Lakeside Drive-In

The drive-in is located at the Ontario Place East Commons. Please access the East Commons via the following directions:

  • Turn onto Ontario Place Boulevard off of Lakeshore Boulevard West.
  • Continue along the road and you will reach the drive-in entrance at Remembrance Drive and Ontario Place Boulevard.

Please tune your radio to 89.9 FM.

Concessions will be available to purchase on-site at the Vista Eatery. All methods of payment are accepted, but debit and credit are strongly encouraged. TIFF prefers Visa.

There are three fully accessible washrooms available, depending on proximity to your vehicle:

  • Next to the Vista concessions stand

  • At the Riverwalk

Masks must be worn when not in your vehicle, and we encourage you to maintain a safe physical distance of at least six feet from others.

West Island Open-Air Cinema

The open-air cinema is located at 955 Lakeshore Boulevard West at Ontario Place. Please go to the top of the hill and enter through the white bridge to access the West Island.

There are fully accessible washrooms located at the south end of the cinema, to the left of the stage.

After the show, please do not exit on your own. On-site staff will ask you to exit by row to ensure that everyone can leave quickly and safely. Please remember to maintain physical distancing upon exiting.

Masks must be worn when not in your seat, and we encourage you to maintain a safe physical distance of at least six feet from others. Please remain in your pod at all times except to purchase concessions, to use the washroom, or in case of emergency.

What safety precautions is TIFF taking for drive-in and open-air events?

TIFF has been working closely with the Province of Ontario, the City of Toronto, and public health officials on the safe execution of the Festival. TIFF’s number-one priority is the health and well-being of Festival audiences, residents of the entire community, and our staff. All decisions undertaken have been in keeping with public-gathering by-laws set forward by Provincial and City public health authorities.

Masks must be worn when not in your vehicle or seated, and we encourage you to maintain a safe physical distance of at least six feet from others.
