Grades 9-12 | Classes up to 32 students | $1,500
Over seven weeks, educators partner with film-industry professionals to lead their students through the creation of a short film. Students will develop skills in media literacy and critical thinking as they pitch, write, act in, and shoot a class film using professional equipment. Classes will delve deep into genre, story creation, and acting or crew development, lighting, and technology, depending on the requirements of the class. This filmmaking programme can be tailored to meet the curricular needs of varying subject areas, including English, drama, or communications technology.
The programme concludes with a final screening of the film, either at school or at TIFF Bell Lightbox.
Three residencies will be facilitated per school year, taking place in Fall 2019 and Spring 2020.
No pre-existing school equipment is required.
This programme is eligible for a 50% Pocket Fund subsidy, subject to application. Bookings are made on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to an application process.
