The Contest begins on October 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) and ends on February 22, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. ET (the "Contest Period").

The Contest is open to children who (a) will be between the ages of 8 to 13 years old (inclusive) on April 9, 2013, (b) reside in the Province of Ontario, (c) have the permission of their parent/guardian to enter the Contest, (d) are able to attend the TIFF Kids International Film Festival between April 9 and 21, 2013, and (e) have never served on a TIFF Kids International Film Festival jury in any age category. Employees, representatives and agents of Toronto International Film Festival Inc. ("TIFF"), and those with whom such persons are domiciled, are not eligible to enter the Contest.

No purchase necessary. To enter, you must take the following steps: (a) write a short (100 to 250 words) original review of a movie of your choice (the "Review"); (b) complete the contest entry form (online at tiff.net/tiffkids/festival/juries), documenting the consent of a parent or guardian; (c) submit the contest entry form and Review online (at the website above), by email to juries@tiff.net or by mail to TIFF Kids International Film Festival, Attention: TIFF Kids International Film Festival Young People's Jury Contest, Reitman Square, 350 King Street West, Toronto ON M5V 3X5 Canada (these items together will constitute the "Entry").

Once submitted, all Entries become the property of TIFF and will not be returned.

Your review must be original and not be copied from anyone else. Only one Entry per natural person is allowed. You must be eligible in accordance with the requirements above and have the consent of your parent or guardian to enter; TIFF may require proof of such consent as a condition of entry or before any prize may be awarded. Your Entry must be complete, and include your Review, which must not be more than 250 words, and be received by TIFF during the Contest Period. TIFF is the sole determinant of time for the purpose of determining whether or not the Entry was received during the Contest Period. TIFF is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, delayed or incomplete entries. TIFF in its discretion may disqualify any Entry that does not meet one or all of the conditions stated above.

There will be nine (9) grand prizes (each a "Grand Prize") to be won, each consisting of: (a) an invitation to serve on one of three young people's juries at the TIFF Kids International Film Festival, being held April 9-21, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario, (b) free admission to, and free popcorn and drinks at, all films being judged by the jury for which you are selected, (c) free admission to TIFF Kids Digi Playspace (d) a gift bag containing gift certificates and TIFF Kids merchandise. Approximate retail value of each Grand Prize is $200.

The following general conditions apply to each Grand Prize: (i) Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable or convertible to cash (no substitutions except at TIFF’s option); (ii) if the winner does not utilize or is not able to utilize any part(s) of the Grand Prize, then any such part(s) not utilized will be forfeited in their entirety and nothing will be substituted in their place; (iii) TIFF reserves the right at any time to: (a) place reasonable restrictions on the availability or use of the Grand Prize or any component thereof; and (b) substitute the Grand Prize or a component thereof for any reason with a prize or a prize component of equal or greater value, including without limitation, but solely at TIFF's sole discretion, a cash award; (iv) by accepting the Grand Prize, the winner agrees to waive all recourse against TIFF if the Grand Prize or a component thereof does not prove satisfactory, either in whole or in part; and (v) Grand Prize will only be awarded with the consent of the entrant's parent or guardian.

On or before April 9, 2013, a panel of judges appointed by TIFF will judge all eligible Entries received during the Contest Period, and assign each a score (the "Score") on the basis of: (1) originality; (2) concision; and (3) critical thinking. Odds of your Entry being selected depend on the number and calibre of eligible Entries received. The Entries with the highest total Score will be deemed to be the Grand Prize selected entrants.

All Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these rules and regulations and by the decisions of the judging panel, which will be final. By entering, entrants and their parents/guardians release TIFF from any and all liability for injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or the use or acceptance of the Grand Prize.
TIFF reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to withdraw, suspend or amend this Contest (or to amend these Rules) in any way, in the event of an error, technical problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of TIFF that interferes with the proper conduct of this Contest as contemplated by these rules and regulations. TIFF reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel, amend or suspend this Contest, or to amend these rules and regulations, without prior notice or obligation, in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error or any kind, or for any other reason.
This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. The decisions of TIFF with respect to all aspects of this Contest are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal, including, without limitation, any decisions regarding the eligibility/disqualification of entrants and Entries.
TIFF reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, and without prior notice, to adjust any of the dates and/or timeframes stipulated in these Rules, to the extent necessary, for purposes of verifying compliance by any entrant or Entry with these Rules, or as a result of technical problems, or in light of any other circumstances which, in the opinion of the TIFF, in its sole and absolute discretion, affect the proper administration of the Contest as contemplated in these Rules.
By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to TIFF, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her entry only for the purpose of administering the Contest and in accordance with TIFF's privacy policy (available at www.tiff.net/privacypolicy), unless the entrant otherwise agrees.
