VOTE. LET'S MAKE THE NEXT BIG FILM.
The People's Choice Award is almost as old as the Toronto International Film Festival itself. Since 1978, audiences have been voting for their favourite Festival films.
Over two dozen winners have gone on to receive Academy Award® nominations; 10 have won for Best Picture, Best Foreign Language Picture or Best Documentary.
As a sponsor of the Award, BlackBerry® is proud to be part of that success.
Recent recipients of the prize for the public's favourite include:
2011: Where Do We Go Now?
2010: The King's Speech
2009: Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire
2008: Slumdog Millionaire
2007: Eastern Promises
This year we have made it even easier to vote. Vote with your ticket online or in the cinema, starting September 6.
A free screening of the BlackBerry People's Choice Award–winning film will play on the final night of the Festival:
Sunday, September 16 at the Ryerson Theatre, 6:00pm.
