Leading Michael Snow scholars discussed the artist’s lasting impact on the fields of film, sound, expanded cinema, and the visuals arts.
As part of WYSIWYG: The Films of Michael Snow, a year-long retrospective devoted to Canadian artist and filmmaker Michael Snow, film scholars discussed the poetic avant garde influences in Wavelength and the comedic inspirations in *Corpus Collosum.
Panelists included Federico Windhausen, film scholar and programmer based in Buenos Aires and Malcolm Turvey, Sol Gittleman Professor in the Department of Art and Art History and Co-Director of Film and Media Studies at Tufts University. The discussion was moderated by Chris Kennedy, filmmaker and programmer of TIFF’s Free Screen.
