Post-secondary students and faculty joined game developer Douglas Wilson for a screening of Us and the Game Industry, a documentary feature from director Stephanie Beth that investigates the design principles of contemporary computer game development.
Those profiled in the film included Douglas Wilson of Die Gute Fabrik (Johann Sebastian Joust, Mutazione); Jenova Chen, John Edwards and Robin Hunicke of thatgamecompany (Journey); Jason Rohrer (The Castle Doctrine); Alexander Bruce (Antichamber); and Zach Gage (SpellTower).
Emma Westecott, Assistant Professor of Games Design at OCAD University, and Cindy Poremba, Professor of Games Design at Sheridan College, facilitated a conversation with Wilson that focused on the evolution of the game industry and current trends in the production of games.
