His unique body of work includes Patlabor: The Movie (90), Stray Dog: Kerberos Panzer Cops (91), Ghost in the Shell (95), Avalon (01), Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (04), nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes, Tachigui: The Amazing Lives of the Fast Food Grifters (06), and The Sky Crawlers (08), which was nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and an Official Selection of the Toronto International Film Festival.
