- Why did you become a Member?
I have been attending the Toronto International Film Festival for 14 consecutive years. It seemed a to be a logical progression, considering the benefits you receive during Festival season.
- What is your favourite part of being a Member?
I really enjoy the special screenings that are presented by other actors and filmmakers (John Waters presenting Salò, Isabella Rossellini presenting Blue Velvet, etc.), however it's just amazing in general to be able to experience the constantly rotating film series and exhibitions offered by this wonderful organization.
- What is your favorite TIFF memory?
Sleeping in the underground parking lot in order to ensure a decent spot in the festival ticket line, and then bursting into Lightbox the second it opened in order to use the little boy's room. Also, seeing Guy Maddin present Keyhole was pretty cool. He's such a verbose and entertaining person, so it's always fun to witness his phantasmagorical Q&As. Plus, Udo Kier was there!
- What is your favourite film of all time?
David Lynch's Lost Highway is my all-time favourite film, however I'm gonna go with something more regional and say The Adjuster by Atom Egoyan. It's this wonderfully odd little Toronto-based gem that explores the darker side of living and attempting to connect in a modern society. It has this hilariously Kafkaesque vibe, functioning as both drama and black comedy. And yes, I'm available to star in the sequel.
