A group of Brooklyn junior students stage Shakespeare’s Macbeth in this fly-on-the-wall documentary portrait.
Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s most daunting plays, and not just because of its heady content: some believe the play itself is cursed. The play inspires so much apprehension that even the most seasoned of acting companies refuse to speak its name in the theatre. So what happens when a group of Brooklyn junior students decide to stage their own production of McB? This fly-on-the-wall portrait takes viewers behind the scenes as the student actors draw links between their characters’ emotions and their own, creating a testament to the critical role of arts education in early development.
Director of McB, Jenni Morello, will join us at the screenings on April 11 and 13!
