We are honoured to welcome Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons to introduce our screening of his first collaboration with David Cronenberg.

- Jeremy Irons has long been regarded as a legend of film, television, and theatre. Since dazzling audiences with his performance in the small-screen adaptation of Brideshead Revisited, Irons has gone on to a string of successes, landing starring roles in The French Lieutenant's Woman, Reversal of Fortune (which won him the Academy Award for Best Actor), The Mission, Bernardo Bertolucci's Stealing Beauty, Adrian Lyne's Lolita, and David Cronenberg's M. Butterfly and Dead Ringers. His recent credits include Showtime's The Borgias, PBS' The Holy Crown, and the features Night Train to Lisbon and Beautiful Creatures.

- David Cronenberg is an internationally renowned Canadian filmmaker. His reputation as an auteur has been firmly established by his influential body of work which includes Shivers, Rabid, Fast Company, The Brood, Scanners, The Fly, eXistenZ, The Dead Zone, M. Butterfly, A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, A Dangerous Method and Cosmopolis. He has won Genie Awards for best director for Videodrome, Dead Ringers, Naked Lunch, Crash, and Spider. Cronenberg is a member of France's Legion d'Honneur, an Officer in the Order of Canada, and a Fellow of the British Film Institute. He is currently completing the Bruce Wagner penned film, Maps to the Stars.
