Tanya Tagaq is a Juno-nominated musical artist born and raised in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. She has worked and toured with such artists as Björk (for the album Medulla) and the Kronos Quartet (for the collaborative projects Nunavut and Tundra Songs), has contributed to the soundtrack of Zacharias Kunuk and Norman Cohn’s The Journals of Knud Rasmussen, and won awards at the 2005 and 2008 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards for her first two solo albums Sinaa and Auk/Blood. Her new album is slated for release in 2012.
