A tough-as-nails American agent tracks a drug-smuggling cartel through the seedy underworld of Amsterdam in this gritty spy thriller, which is notable for featuring one of the most elaborate and spectacular boat chases ever filmed.

Hot on the heels of a major drug-smuggling cartel, tough-as-nails American agent Paul Sherman (Sven-Bartil Taube) arrives in Amsterdam and dives into a seedy underworld of nightclubs, hookers and dope peddlers. The chase soon leads Sherman and his partner Maggie (Barbara Parkins) to an island castle, where they do battle with a mysterious religious order that doubles as the most nefarious gang of heroin smugglers in the Netherlands. Based on the novel by Alastair MacLean, this gritty secret agent thriller features one of the most exciting boat chases ever filmed, a spectacular speedboat pursuit through the canals of Amsterdam that predates (and even tops) the bayou chase in the 1973 Bond classic Live and Let Die.
