In this sexually charged and emotionally complex drama from director Ry Russo-Young and co-writer Lena Dunham (HBO's Girls), a young New York artist (Olivia Thirlby) ignites a firestorm of long-repressed urges when she moves in with a laid-back L.A. sound designer (John Krasinki, The Office) and his family to complete her art film.
Martine (Olivia Thirlby), a twenty-year-old artist from New York, arrives in Los Angeles to stay with a family living in the hip and hilly community of Silver Lake. Peter (John Krasinski), the father, has agreed to help Martine complete sound design on her film as a favour to his wife. But when Martine innocently enters the seemingly idyllic life of this young, open-minded clan, she awakens suppressed impulses in everyone and forces them to confront their own fears and desires. Sexually charged, emotionally complex and warmly human, this potent drama from director Ry Russo-Young and co-writer Lena Dunham (Tiny Furniture and the hit HBO show Girls) is a compelling, intricate drama about lust, denial, and deception.
Live Skype Introduction with director Ry Russo-Young on Saturday October 13 at 6:45pm.
