This is the place where education meets popular culture, art meets technology — and where we hope you, our community of educators, students, film and television professionals and film enthusiasts, will gather.
We’re a unique film art, education and industry resource with a global audience — that just got a lot bigger. That’s certainly the beauty of the web. We envision a future stage when we can meet a user’s research, information and documentation needs online, for people who simply can’t get to us in person. And this web project coincides with and facilitates FRL plans for exhibition, conservation, archiving and educational and other programming.
Our peer professional community
The Library serves its local and national communities but also prides itself on its affiliations with similar organizations, its participation in professional associations, and the international reach of these relationships. They provide valuable information sharing and expertise, which is passed on to Library users.

The Fédération International des Archives du Film is an international organization of film archives which preserves films and film culture. The Library is an associate member of FIAF and the Library Director has served on its Executive Committee for the past six years.

The Canadian Museums Association is a national organization for the advancement of the Canadian museum community. It works to advance the growth and stability of museums in Canada.
