People Speak.jpgKarina Longworth at Spoutblog  reports on live performances of The People Speak
happening at the Democratic National Convention. This
work, inspired by Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States" will have a sneak preview of clips at TIFF as part of a special Mavericks presentation on Sunday, Sept 7, including a live conversation with Zinn, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin and Chris Moore.

Karina writes about a moving performance that actress Kerry Washington gave, portraying the anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan: If Washington's performance yesterday is any indication of the sheer commitment of these actors to bringing the radical voices of the past and present to vibrant life, then
The People Speak is going to be one hell of an experience.
